2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Gets Horsepower, Range Increases

Both the standard-range battery and the extended-range battery pack of the all-new, all-electric F-150 Lightning will receive an increase in horsepower, according to some revised key statistics provided by Ford for the vehicle. 452 horsepower is available from the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning when equipped with the standard-range battery. There is now 580 horsepower available for extended-range pickups. These numbers are an increase from the corresponding pre-production forecasts of 426 and 563 ponies, respectively.

The payload is another figure that has undergone revision. Where Ford had initially anticipated a maximum payload capacity of 2,000 pounds, that figure has increased to 2,235 pounds when these trucks roll off the line. On top of that, the F-150 Lightning still boasts a maximum towing capability of 10,000 pounds.
